On BPIQ.com we report when companies have been acquired and whether company assets are still in the database (depending on the buying company). Acquired companies were first commented on in the BPIQ IPO forum post and blog post where we presented a table of the ten smid-cap biopharma companies in our database that were acquired by other companies before October 2021. Since the last "acquired companies post" in June 2022, one acquisition was terminated, one company was delisted, and six companies announced future acquisitions.

After an acquisition deal is announced, time passes before the deal closes, if it closes. The market share and complexity of the companies in the transaction affects how much time it takes for an announced deal to close, or break down. After they are announced, deals are subject to shareholder approval and approval of the U.S. Security and Exchange Committee (SEC) / and similar agencies in other countries. Thus, after a deal is announced the underlying stock typically is priced at some discount to the agreed upon acquisition price based on the perceived amount of risk that a deal will not be approved. Some investors invest in companies after a deal is announced to take advantage of the current price of the underlying stock versus the share price that was agreed upon if the deal gets approved by shareholders and regulators.
Companies who have been acquired are removed from the BPIQ database. Assets of acquired companies which have been acquired by large biopharma companies are typically no longer in the BPIQ.com database. However, assets of companies acquired by other smid-cap biopharma companies will continue to be in our database. They will appear on the company page for the acquiring company.
